For most of the past decade, a Pea Ridge weekend meant a drive. Groceries were in Bentonville. Boots and feed were in Bentonville or Cassville. Even a Saturday-night burger usually meant getting on Highway 72 and heading west. Longtime residents can tell you exactly which two four-way stops used to define the town's commercial core.
That's not the shape of a fall Saturday here anymore. Between the Downtown Pea Ridge programming schedule, the returned fair, a new Highway 72 anchor tenant, and a small-business ribbon-cutting almost every month, a resident can now plan August through November without leaving the city limits. What follows is the actual calendar, read the way a neighbor would read it.
The Second Saturday Rhythm
Downtown Pea Ridge has settled into a repeating monthly beat. Second Saturday runs August 8th, 2026 from 5pm to 9pm, and again September 12th from 5pm to 9pm. It's an evening event, which matters in August when the field at Gladheart Park is still radiating heat at four in the afternoon. Show up after dinner, or bring dinner.
The September edition is the one to circle. It sits four days ahead of another downtown event that only happens once a year:
Blankets & Books: September 18th, 2026 6pm to Dark
Two evening gatherings inside of eleven days, both downtown, both walkable if you live near Weston or Curtis. That's a density Pea Ridge did not have in 2023.
The Farmers Market, Twice a Month
The market runs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays through the growing season. The full remaining 2026 schedule, straight from the downtown organization:

Three things to know if you haven't been in a while. The window is tight, three hours only, so the early arrivals get the produce and the late arrivals get the coffee. September 19th sits the morning after Blankets & Books, which turns that weekend into the closest thing Pea Ridge has to a downtown festival stretch. And the November 14th Harvest Market is a different animal from the summer markets — a one-day season closer that draws vendors who don't work the regular Saturday circuit.
The Highway 72 Corridor Grew Up in Eight Months
Two openings in 2026 changed what a Pea Ridge errand run looks like. In March, Tractor Supply opened on the east side of town on what was once farmland, cutting travel to the Bentonville and Cassville, Missouri stores that most northeast Benton County residents had been using. The baseline matters here. The Bentonville store was about a 20-minute drive at 12 miles, and Cassville was 25 miles and roughly 38 minutes depending on the route. A trip that used to eat an hour and a half is now ten minutes.
The store itself is not a shrunk-down rural version of the concept. Its footprint is the most up-to-date of any Tractor Supply store and is larger than the Bentonville store. Store manager Rob Eames staffed it specifically for the local trade. He was specific in interviews that he wanted people with experience with animals, and believes the staff can answer questions about pets, chickens, cattle and horses. For anyone who's been running out to Cassville for chick feed each spring, this is the practical change.
The July arrival is smaller and different in character. The City of Pea Ridge announced the grand opening of The Flooring Collective, now open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 372 North Curtis Avenue. The ribbon cutting ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and included cornhole, free burgers and hotdogs, and an e-bike giveaway. Which reads less like a corporate opening and more like the block-party format Pea Ridge has been using for its own downtown Saturdays. A local business borrowing the tone of the town it opened in is usually a good sign.
Between the two, the Lee Town Road stretch that will eventually become Highway 72 has quietly become a corridor rather than a pass-through. Mayor Nathan See has been public about the fact that the city has landed five new businesses in the past two years, with more on the horizon.
The One-Night Events That Pull the Whole Town Out
Two annual events sit above the monthly rhythm. Both are already on the 2026 books.
The Pea Ridge Fair came back for a third consecutive year this June after a long hiatus. The fair originally began in 1950 but was retired in 2016, ran without a carnival for several years starting in 2009, and was brought back to life by the city in 2024 with rides, games, food and more. This year's fair was held in the field north of the City Hall and School Administration building at 975 Weston Street. If you missed it, the 2027 dates will land in late June again.
Freedom on the Ridge is the July 3rd fireworks night, and the food lineup is worth naming because it tells you which local operators to look for at other events too. See's Snack Shack, The Cosmic Lemon, Tasty Waves Co., The Lord's Kitchen, Chelle's Burger Joint, Rub It Snout, and Taqueria El Chuko have all shown up. The 2026 event ran Friday, July 3 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gladheart Park, 15394 Guthrie Road. That's the same field the Second Saturday events use, so if you liked the Independence Day crowd, the August and September evenings there will feel familiar.
What an Actual Fall Saturday Looks Like Now
Working from the calendar above, here's how a Pea Ridge resident could stitch September 12th together without a single trip to Bentonville:
- 8:00 a.m. — Nothing on the calendar. Coffee at home. The next farmers market isn't until the 19th.
- Mid-morning — Errand run down to Lee Town Road. Chicken feed and a pair of gloves at Tractor Supply. Sample tile at The Flooring Collective on North Curtis if the kitchen project is still open.
- Late afternoon — Head to Gladheart Park early to claim a spot before Second Saturday opens at 5.
- 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. — Second Saturday. Food trucks, music, neighbors.
- Following Friday, September 18 — Blankets & Books, same downtown footprint.
- Saturday, September 19 — Farmers Market from 8 to 11.
Three downtown evenings, one full errand loop, and one morning market inside eight days. Two years ago that itinerary required Bentonville twice.
Why the Calendar Keeps Filling In
The programming density is not accidental. The city has been planning for it. Pea Ridge updated its wastewater treatment plant in 2021 to accommodate up to 25,000 residents, ahead of the growth curve rather than playing catch-up. That capacity is what allows a Curtis Avenue storefront to open in July and a Lee Town Road big-box to open in March in the same calendar year. The rooftops that support a Second Saturday crowd are the same rooftops that make a national chain willing to sign a lease here.
